35. Tree to traveller

Traveller, come, sit under me,
I still have some leaves left.

The sun is yet to shed its fury,
The wind is yet to turn cool,
The path remains full of thorns
The goal remains far away.

Traveller, rest is no waste of time
It is part of the journey,
You can’t walk all the time
You are just a human being.

Let me offer you some rest
Before all my leaves desert me
And take my shade with them
Making me useless to a traveller.

Dear Onkarji,

This poem, like your other poems, speaks clearly about the realities of life.

The poem even conveys a couple of value-oriented messages from which we can grasp those few good morals of life.

Among all the stanzas, I liked the last one, it's excellent:
"Let me offer you some rest
Before all my leaves desert me
And take my shade with them
Making me useless to a traveller."

The above lines will certainly leave a strong impression on the reader's mind. Keep writing more and more poems...

Cheers,
Charan.

The line about rest also being a part of the journey is truly beautiful. Sometimes we are so obsessed about our destination that we forget to savour the scenes passing by.

so, this is how life should be. right? there should be openness and eagerness to help all we can with everything we have.
