50. At Okhla bird sanctuary

Okhla bird sanctuary is a quick getaway in NOIDA on the border of Delhi. It is a tiny place on the banks of the river Yamuna. There is a good road that one can drive on for most parts of the sanctuary, but there are also walking trails. Taking these trails is real fun and offers better chances of spotting birds. One also comes across some locals, grazing their animals. There is  a watch tower which gives a good view of the sanctuary. With busy roads passing nearby, the sanctuary does not sound like a forest.

We went there yesterday which was a slightly sunny and warm day. A few visitors could be seen, but not many birds. Maybe, visiting the sanctuary in December and early January would have been more rewarding.  Despite some disappointment, the visit was enjoyable. We spotted some birds which my son, Aviral captured on camera.
