Situated in high hills of Kerala, Munnar is an enchanting hill station.Its beauty lies in lush-green tree plantations strewn all around it. Munnar is also known for Neelakurinji, the blue-coloured flower which blooms once every twelve years. 2018 is the year it bloomed last. Eravikulam National Park near Munnar is famous for the Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered species of goat which can climb steep heights. Another prime attraction for visitors is the Mattupetty dam. Situated at a height of 1700 m above the sea level, Mattupetty is known for its beautiful lake. Munnar has a decent market where one can find a large number of shops selling tea, spices and home-made chocolates.
