Don’t look at the fallen leaves
Don’t think I am dying,
I am only regenerating myself.
As the autumn advances,
I’ll shed all my leaves
And stand still in introspection
Watching days and months go by.
When the spring arrives,
I’ll have a new green cover
Pleasing to every eye
And home to chirpy birds.
Change is what I’ll strive for
As long as I live
Hardly does it matter to me
That I cannot move from the place
Where I am rooted.

Ida Scott Taylor once wrote: Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.
