Most people seem to love the winter at the end of a long summer. Or is it love for change? We are never happy with what we have or with the situation we are in. It is only a matter of time before we start craving for change.
We try hard to achieve some thing, but once we have what we want, we relish it only for some time. Soon, our quest for something different starts in the hope that we shall be happy once we are able to achieve that. Similar is the case with situations. If we live in heaven for a few days, we start craving for hell. Heaven starts appearing like hell and we are desperate to get away from it.
The crux of the matter is that nothing is good or bad in itself. Or is it more correct to say that nothing remains good for a long time ? After some time, good things start turning ugly and bad things start looking attractive.
Strange are the ways of human beings. It is so difficult to understand them or their behaviour. They have such an infinite capacity to make themselves miserable in the best of situations and sweetest of companies.
Those of us who are eagerly waiting for the winter to fully set in will soon be tired of it and start craving for change. They will then be able to comfort themselves by thinking, ‘if winter comes, can spring be far behind’.
